The annual County Am-Am returned to its original home over the Avening course at Minchinhampton this year, and there was some fine golf on display despite the tricky conditions.
The winner of the prize for the leading amateur was won by Ceri Fearnley (Filton) who recorded an excellent round of 69 (one under par).
Ceri covered the front nine with eight pars and a bogey, but his round came to life with an eagle three at the par five 11th. Bogeys followed on the 12th and 13th, but Ceri responded brilliantly to cover the last five holes in two under par; his birdies coming at the 14th and 18th holes.
Ceri took the first prize on countback from Joe Long (Lansdown) who continued his excellent start to the season with another sub-70 score. Noah Hessey (Long Ashton) took third place with a one over par score of 71.
This year's team prize went to the trio of Mel Hadfield, Russ McNamara and Alex Wiggins from Tewkesbury Park who were joined by Alex Ward (The Kendleshire) as their leading amateur.
Their winning score of 123 saw them home by two shots from the Chipping Sodbury team of Mike Darby (former Captain/President), Andrew Harris and Jonathan Thompson who were accompanied by their fellow member and County 1st team stalwart Andrew Hale.
Our thanks go to Minchinhampton Golf Club and every single one of the competitors who continue to provide such outstanding support to our County.
