The 2nds had a friendly of their own as well, losing out by 9 - 6 away at The Wocestershire. Captain Gary Ward saw many things to be pleased about though.
Gary said, "Despite losing 9-6, I was very encouraged by the display of our new look 2nd team which included 4 juniors and 5 new players whom have never played county golf.
The match was played in great spirits at the fantastic venue of the Worcestershire Golf Club, which for this time of year, was in great condition - a credit to the green staff at the course.
The morning foursomes were very even, finishing all square at lunch, thanks to the birdie, birdie finish for Ryan Prosser & Will Hart. The afternoon commenced in the same fashion as the morning with the top 6 matches being shared. 2 of the last 3 matches were unbelievably close and could have gone either way, but alas, not our way. 3 of the matches finished on the 17th with 4 matches going the full distance, it really was that close.
My thanks go to our Vice President, Mike Doyle-Davidson, for his great company and support for the day."
