The Gloucestershire Golf Union is looking to recruit two enthusiastic and highly committed coaches to play a full part in maximizing the performance and development of our Under 18 and Under 16 teams.
Reporting to the respective Team Manager, the role will involve the delivery of squad training sessions, as well as attendance at a number of matches and events throughout the year.
Whilst the focus will be on the team, there is also a requirement to help individual players identify and develop the knowledge, skills, attitudes and habits required to fulfil their ambitions as a golfer.
The successful applicants will have a strong track record in coaching, along with the leadership, organisation and communication skills required to inspire enthusiastic young players. The ability to communicate effectively with people in each players’ support network will be key to success e.g. parents and other coaches.
Experience of working in a team environment is required, as is the desire to continually improve your own performance. It is essential that the successful candidates are willing and able to work with other members of the Gloucestershire Golf Management Team, ensuring that the respective programmes are delivered in line with the broader requirements of the Gloucestershire Golf Union.
To allow the role to be carried out effectively, the successful applicants will provide regular reports on progress, and when required, be able to secure access to suitable training facilities.
The role will require the equivalent of 18 days of work for the Under 18 appointment, and 12 days of work for the Under 16 appointment. Each appointment covers the period between January and October each year, and includes time at matches, events and training sessions, as well as contact time with players and managers throughout the period.
