The Squad Manager & Squad Performance Coach

Squad Manager - Gary Ward

The Squad Manager is Gary Ward of The Kendleshire Golf Club. Gary is also the Assistant Manager of the County Under 18 Team.

Gary has held a number of roles in the development of Junior golfers at both club and county level, and has unbounded enthusiasm when it comes to supporting golf in Goucestershire.

He still holds out hope that he'll represent the County 1st Team one day....you never know!
Squad Performance Coach - Mark Sanders

Mark is a teaching professional at Stockwood Vale Golf Club and has a huge amount of experience of what it takes to become a player at the very highest level. He took up the game fairly late in comparison with most players but was playing for the County Mens team whilst still a Junior. He went on to represent the South West and then England following his fantastic win in the English Amateur Championship at Woodhall Spa in 1998. Mark was a member of the Walker Cup Squad in 1999 alongside the likes of Luke Donald, Paul Casey and Simon Dyson.

Mark turned professional in 2000. In 2001 he played in the Open Championship at the Royal Lytham St Annes, played on the Europro Tour in 2001, finishing 3rd on the Order of Merit and played on the European Challenge Tour in 2002, 2003 and 2004 and qualified for the European PGA Tour in 2005. Mark has played alongside and against the top players of the world – the likes of Woods and Garcia to name but a few.
